Costs
With digitalSTROM you save in four ways:
Installation
Compared to other systems, the costs for installing digitalSTROM are lower because no new lines need to be laid. The existing power supply is used. This means that material and installation costs can be saved, whether it concerns a new building or an existing apartment is to be refitted. Furthermore, planning costs are reduced: Whereas complicated circuits were required for conventional systems, digitalSTROM needs only a simple mains supply.
Programming
An electrician can perform the initial programming, and you can do all other programming yourself. You need neither a technician nor special software if you wish to change the light mood or integrate new devices. More complex programming is carried out via a PC but can be achieved without any major effort or cost.
Operation
With digitalSTROM you know exactly which device consumes how much energy. This enables you to find out which are the energy guzzlers, e. g. a defective refrigerator, and replace them. At the same time digitalSTROM devices in standby mode are so energy-saving that among experts nobody speaks of energy consumption.
Components
The higher price for a digitalSTROM device pays off to the savings compared to conventional standby mode. Light bulbs, or energy-saving lamps operated with digitalSTROM have a significantly longer service life. The illuminants are switched on an off gently – they are slowly dimmed up and down and are therefore much more durable than lamp without digitalSTROM.
